Safety, Trust, and Gentle Accountability in Therapy

I have enjoyed my sessions with Jon. I feel I can say anything without being judged as an awful or nasty person. And at the same time, I trust that he is able to confront any inconsistencies on my part and give me food for thought. He is always on a level that I understand, especially that since I am in the field of counseling also, a school counselor is way different and I have always felt that he is comfortable talking about issues that I may be familiar with but my knowledge is much less than his. I appreciate his insights and I really like him giving me information and websites on issues that I can explore anytime on my own. I like the fact that when I ask for "homework" he gives me some and things to check up on my own. Confrontation is realistic and very helpful to me. I like the feedback I have received on myself and I know that his answers, comments are honest.
I feel strongly that I can refer people to Jon. He has a vast array of knowledge on all sorts of topics. He is fun, has a great sense of humor, and is very insightful. He helped me understand and work through both difficult and easy issues. I feel every time I leave I have a store of knowledge to work on further because of him.

Deep Listening and Strengthening Marriage

My husband and I are doing better as a married couple. Sometimes Jon’s good words of advice will help us during certain situations. We have applied certain things that he recommended and they have been beneficial. We liked how he truly listened and understood our situation. Thank you, Jon, for helping us through a very rough patch.
As for me-when I first came to Jon, I had lost my way and was “stuck” in an unhealthy thought process. Through talk therapy, working together, I was able to find my way out of the thought processes that were holding me back. The more I talked to him, little by little, the old me seemed to return. I appreciate Jon for listening to me and for helping me work through the situation. His good advice still, to this day, goes through my mind. For that I am very grateful.

Achieving Life Goals and Overcoming Anxiety

My experience with our therapy sessions these past 2 years has been life changing. Jon's way of opening up my eyes and heart has helped me achieve one of the biggest goals in my life these past couple of years. He also helped me deal with my anxiety and my compulsive personality. My mind and body are in a better place now than before our sessions started. Although I feel like I don’t need therapy anymore for my anxiety, I will continue to see Jon because I enjoy talking with him about everyday life experiences and current issues relating to my girlfriend, child, ex-wife and work in general.

Steady Support and Growth

The therapy process has been slow and steady for me. I know I have learned a lot about myself and others. I have learned coping skills, listening to myself and others and to remember to breathe. I did not know how important breathing is. I feel soooooooo safe and welcomed. Jon has taught me so much. I am very grateful for him and can recommend anyone to Jon. When I am with Jon I am able to be myself and I love that feeling. Freedom!!

Healing Mind, Heart and Body

Jon has opened my eyes and shifted my perspective and awareness about myself, and life in general. When I first saw him I was in a lot of pain and in a battle with depression but really just a battle with myself. I was comfortable from the beginning with him, and he became someone I value in my life and can always rely on for authentic guidance. The therapy process with him has been such a healing and enlightening journey. I appreciate his calm and present attitude towards everything. He always listens carefully to my crazed thoughts and I always feel understood. I really liked how he taught me that the breath is an amazing tool to use to help calm my anxiety and thoughts, and to feel present in the moment. I also liked how he taught me about emotional intelligence and the connection between the body and mind. I now practice feeling my emotions thoroughly with in myself, with curiosity and acceptance. He provided me with many tools that I will have and use for the rest of my life. Through my experience of therapy with him I was able to heal, open my mind and heart, and to learn to finally accept and love myself. He showed me that life is an amazing journey and every moment is a lesson, I just have to be open and accepting of each moment without passing any judgment. He impacted my life in such a positive and meaningful way. Thank you, Jon, for your guidance and compassion.

Warm and Kind Professionalism

Jon Hsieh has been a tremendous blessing in my life. I am welcomed to every session with warmth and kindness. The way he presents himself is very professional, yet I feel I am with a friend who truly cares about my well-being. He is a warm and inviting person. His calm and peaceful demeanor allows for me to relax in the session and be completely myself. Because of his inviting personality, I feel I have the freedom to express myself, without worry or fear of judgment.
I appreciate the fact that Jon allows me to vent, cry, and express frustration without scolding me or reprimanding me in the process. He has never cut me off, or tried to stop me from expressing my feelings. He never makes me feel bad about my emotions or feelings. He always makes me feel that I have a right to express my thoughts and feelings, without having to apologize for them. Even through those times of my hurt, frustration, or fear, Jon is still able to teach me an important thought, fact or lesson by using my emotion to help me learn something more about myself. He helps me become more self-aware of who I am and how I relate to those around me.
I appreciate the way he presents information about ideas and concepts he wants me to learn. I like the way he tells stories to help me relate to what he is trying to teach me. I appreciate that there has never been a time that I have walked away from a session where I haven’t learned something new. He inspires me to think about issues by trying on different perspectives. He encourages me to take full responsibility for my life and reminds me of the ways to do that.
The things I have learned from him in my sessions have been invaluable. I feel very strongly that I could search for years and not find someone as helpful, knowledgeable, or beneficial in helping me grow as a person as Jon has been. I am thankful to God for leading me to Jon, and I believe he is one of my earthly angels.

Patience, Understanding, and Mindfulness

I feel as though our work together has been an important part of my healing process because I have found strength in the simplest tools and reminders. I think of how I was living a year ago when I started coming to our sessions and it is obvious to me that I have learned ways to reduce stress and take initiative to take more control of my life.

I am grateful for Jon’s patience, understanding, and the mindfulness focus. I have already mentioned this, but I will reiterate my appreciation for the work he has done already on himself. I have been to other counselors and therapists who labeled my experience for me, tried to control my perspective, and have made it about their own experience. Jon has no sign of that!

I also appreciate how he will focus on breath awareness and reading the body's language. I myself believe the answers are in the body, so it has been a true relief to find a counselor that practices that perspective. It's difficult, but I believe it's the best work for me. I still carry many little tidbits of what we have learned, but my biggest lesson this year is not letting myself get carried away in "the story".

With endless resources and tips combined with a powerful mindfulness approach, Jon has purely supported me in reshaping my view of life to a much more positive experience. He has the tools and experience to help anyone wanting transformation in their life.
